DNA transfection

There are various methods to deliver engineered DNA in eukaryotic cell. Various materials and compounds are used in the process of transfection, including polymers, liposomes and nanoparticles.

Among the most unreliable ways of transfection is a method in where calcium phosphate is used. Other methods use high organic mixes, the so-called dendrimers to connect DNAO and to produce it in a cell. Inclusion of DNAA is an effective method, in which it is necessary to transfected in liposomes, which are similar to the structure of a cell and can alloy with the cell’s membrane, letting out DNAO in a cell.

Another reliable method is to use the advantage of cationic polymers such as DEAE-dextran or PEI. It is possible to enter DNAO into the cells by using viruses as bearing. In such cases, the method is caused by virus transduction, and, the cells are transduced.

There are other more than occasionally used methods like heat shock, nucleofection, magnetofection and electroporation, which also give good results in experiments.
